FormBuilder 0.72

FormBuilder 0.72 introduces some long-overdue features which many of you have been asking about for a while now.

  1. Feature: CAPTCHA – We have introduced a CAPTCHA field type which will allow you to verify that your visitors are actually real people rather than bots or spammers.
  2. Feature: Database Backups – We have introduced a new feature which allows you to store backup copies of all emails in the WordPress database if enabled.  The data is stored in basic XML format encoded in the same encoding as the blog.  Further development on this feature will probably be done in the future.
  3. Feature: New Pre-populated Forms – We have modified the functions which create a new form to have new forms created with some predefined basic contact fields.  This allows the administrator to easily and quickly create basic contact forms.
  4. Bug Fix: The “call-time pass-by-reference error” has been fixed.

Thank you for your interest in our plugin.  We hope you like it.  As always, if you find any bugs or wish to make any comments or suggestions, feel free to do so in the comments below.

You may download it from the WordPress.org plugin repository.

Good day,

Just want to inquire, is it possible to let the form post to a database instead? Rather than just Email or XML?

Hi there

I’m just a little unsure how to set up the captcha field as it keeps showing two separate boxes (one below the other) to write an answer in but only has one word to enter.

Can you help?

Thanks

jacki says:

oh sorry, never mind. It wasnt anything to do with your form – it was “the nut behind the wheel” – I accidentally added an extra field.

Just ignore me and go about your business :)

Playing with the plugin and am really impressed so far. very easy and functional, which I like.

I do want to throw in a vote for expanding the database backup and storage option. It’s nice to get the email, but to have it stored in the database would be even better. The XML formatting is a problem due to it’s lack of general use these days. But until you get it done, looks like I’ll be brushing up on my XML skills just for this plugin. That’s either sad or a compliment … I don’t know which.

Thanks for fixing the “call-time pass-by-reference error”. This is such a great plugin!

I’m glad everyone has found the plugin useful. With regard to the database storage, we are working on it. More functionality will be included in the next release. The difficulty is creating a solution which fit’s all sizes.

hi, i setup the latest build and created a new form with captcha as last field.

When I test the form I keep getting the following error:

Ooops!
You seem to have missed or had mistakes in the following required field(s).

even thou the captcha were correctly entered…what might be the issue here?

James says:

Hi Russ,

I wonder if this is an issue related to cookies. Do you have cookies disabled on your browser?
