Praying for Our Teen Community in TMC

The teen community is one of the busiest within The Mentor Center. Hurting and broken teenagers are coming constantly with questions, issues and requests for ongoing mentoring. This week please join us in prayer as we ask the Lord of the harvest to continue to raise up labourers to work within this community and richly bless the teens that we are caring for.

MONDAY

More Mentors
Currently, all of our mentors are handling as many e-mails as they are able to according to their individual capacities, yet there are still plenty of unanswered e-mails sitting in our inbox awaiting an answer. Please pray that the Lord would move more people to hear of TMC who have a heart to care for and walk alongside teenagers.

Hurting Teens, Open Hearts
Please pray with us today that the Lord would open and soften the hearts of the young people within our teen community. Pray that God would reveal Himself as the true source of hope and healing to teenagers in the midst of heartbreaking situations and series of different crises.

I am a software professional in India. Please pray for my health. I am experiencing frequent health problems. Please pray that God would lead me out of these problems. Pray for my life in Jesus and growth in Jesus, for my career and future. (www.secretsofsuccess.com)

I need prayer because I have lost all hope. I know that God loves me but I’m having a hard time drawing closer to Him and have found myself very withdrawn. I do not have anyone that I can talk to (other than my therapist). I’m having so many problems in many areas of my life: I was recently diagnosed with HSV2 (my boyfriend of 3+ years gave it to me, admitted that he knew and has gone off with a new girlfriend). Wisdom and Patience
Today, please focus your prayers on the time the mentors put into responding to e-mails. Pray that the Lord would grant them wisdom and discernment in tackling tough life situations and questions. Please also pray that their time would be multiplied and abilities increased in their faithful service.

THURSDAY

Communication is Key
Please pray for all the communication issues that come along with online mentoring software. Specifically, please pray for the teen community leader (who serves as our Editorial Operations Manager). Pray that she would be able to convey important information clearly and that it would be understood by the mentors. As well, teen culture often uses language that is entirely different than those that are of older generations. Pray that the Lord would give mentors words that are relevant to the youth with whom they are speaking with.

Please pray for me, my children and my ex-husband. We are in such turmoil. I pray that the Lord takes care of us and brings us through this storm. We have only been divorced since April 23, 2008. I pray that the Lord brings my ex-husband home to our family. We miss and love him so much. (www.thelife.com)

My husband left a year and a half ago. He now seeks full custody of our 15 yr old son, and is trying to move me out of our home. Our son is very depressed and angry (and is only getting one side of the story). I did not want any of this and have tried to protect our son by not talking about his dad negatively. Our son and his older sister now wants to only spend time with their dad and not me. I asked my husband to go to counseling with me for many years to no avail. He finally agreed, but it went very badly. I’ve never cheated or anything like that. I pray for complete faith in God and for my children’s protection. Pray that we will all hear God’s voice. FRIDAY

Future Generations of God’s Revolutionaries
Here at TruthMedia we desire to dream big! Today please pray that God would radically transform the lives of these young people, and that they would become the spiritual revolutionaries of tomorrow. Pray that out of these youth would come missionaries, pastors, and believers inspired and motivated to take Christ into their workplaces and communities.

I have been out of work for a month. I do not have any visions or dreams. I don’t even know what I want anymore. I’ve failed at being a wife, a mother and apparently a worker. I feel totally let down, am sinking into despair. I can’t seem to believe what I read in the bible because it’s contradictory to what I am experiencing in my life. I have no idea at all which way to go. I am fighting off fear, being cynical, depression and self pity. I feel worthless, mindless, useless and careless. Please pray for me. TruthMedia has been in need of someone to help with our internet marketing efforts for some time. Praise the Lord, recently we received an application from Joseph Park, a local Korean Christian living in Surrey, who has expressed his desire to join our team to help in this area which is his specialty. We have interviewed Joseph and are hoping he will be able to start in September. Please pray that the remaining details will be worked out in the coming weeks!

Each morning subscribers look for that word of encouragement that our devotions provide.
God is touching hearts each morning through the efforts of TM.
Here is a sample from one morning this week…..

I find it amazing that these emails tend to be exactly what I need to hear.
Last night I was praying that I let go of my wants and allow God’s peace to be visible in my life - and this morning I read this… I feel like God has reached out and touched me. God Bless!

Really needed this today!! We have a lot going on and I know I must trust God.
God is so good, I needed this Word about peace this morning.

Two things to know.

  1. Lots of you have seen the ’server error’ message when trying to log into The Mentor Center and others of you have seen the same page when you try to send or reassign. We have been experiencing intermittent technical issues with The Mentor Center since early on Saturday, Aug 9.
  2. Even though some of you are not receiving the notification email in your inboxes, please check to see if you have mail in TMC by clicking on the link below. You can expect to be notified whenever you have mail waiting in TMC in the near future.

Content That Listens - 
Previously users were content to just sit back and read. Now they want to actively participate through discussion and user-driven content. It’s time for content that listens. This is content that is culturally relevant, that encourages interactivity and that is fluid and dynamic. Please pray that we would receive submissions of this nature, and that the Lord would use this sort of content for ministry opportunities.


TUESDAY
Faithful Volunteers
 -Today, please pray for our one-time as well as continuing volunteer authors. Please pray that God would bless them with words and ideas, as well as increase their discernment in knowing what issues to address in their writing. Please also pray for their spiritual protection and for the Lord’s hand of continued blessing.

WEDNESDAY
Varied Content -
As a ministry that seeks to meet our audiences at their felt needs, and address the deeper issues with the hope of Jesus Christ, it is crucial for us to be able to be both aware and accommodating to that which our visitors seek. This requires content of us that is varied, and address a series of different issues, experiences and needs. Please pray that God would give us wisdom in what kind of content we should pursue and request of our volunteer authors.

THURSDAY
New Recruits -
As new and old visitors come to our site, please pray that those with writing abilities and an ear to the Lord’s Spirit would be drawn to write for us, and send us suitable submissions. Pray that the timid would be given courage and the hesitant would be given a nudge from the Lord.

FRIDAY
A Launch Pad for Change
- Please pray that the content that our authors provide would act as a launch pad for transformation in people’s hearts and souls. Pray that the words and concepts presented in the writing would lead people to begin a relationship with Christ and encourage them to join the advancing of the kingdom.

Be blessed as you feel God inspiring your writing through the prayers of others.

Please pray for me. I am having a financial issue with someone and my family will be forced seek legal action against the other party if this person does not cooperate. I am in desperate need of a job. I have a job now but I only work about 15 hours per week. I used to get 30-40 hours per week. I have been trying to find a job but I have not had much luck. My children and I are being torn apart by my ex-husband’s behavior and how we choose to handle it. One daughter is furious and argues with him, the other says nothing so she can maintain a relationship with him, the youngest is too young to understand and still cries for her father. I feel like I am losing my kids. I have to compete for their attention and affection and we argue a lot. The middle one has pulled away from me emotionally. (www.womentodaymagazine.com)

My husband is working very hard right now to provide for us, and I thank God for him daily. I ask that he be lifted up in prayer so that he doesn’t get stressed or face anxiety. Please pray that his sleep be restful each night and that there would be peace when he is in our home. I also ask for prayer for myself, so that I can keep calm and collected in this time. Please pray that I be given calmness to keep our family and home running smoothly and that I not neglect our children’s needs or become frustrated with them. Be encouraged! You are doing a great job furthering God’s kingdom around the world. How exciting to be a part of a global impact from your desk or from your sofa or even from Manitoba! :)

Now that we are in TMC and the Supersite is almost ready to fully launch, it is easy to focus on features that don’t work the same as the old software, or the many glitches that need to be fixed. You may even begin to question why did we exodus out of Egypt into somewhat unknown territory.

Your TM management team would like to serve you, the valued staff and volunteers of TM, by being an encouragement to you. Everyday a short story or item to celebrate, such as a mentor led someone to the Lord through TMC or and tech issue with the Supersite has been resolved, will be posted on the staff blog.

I always thank my God for you because of the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus. For you were made rich in every way in him, in all your speech and in every kind of knowledge just as the testimony about Christ has been confirmed among you so that you do not lack any spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
