I received this email from Nancy this morning and asked her if I could share it with all of you. Made me think this morning! Hello to All, Steve and I had the opportunity this summer to visit Drumheller, Alberta Canada, to see the Canadian Badlands Passion Play. The play was held in the outdoor badlands setting of dry hills and open spaces. The play itself was very good. But there are a few things I particularly noticed that I would like to share with you….things that made myself think in a different way.
I challenge you to perhaps look with a new perspective…..at God’s plan for us. I have seen several movies about the Passion of our Lord…but seeing a “real live person” play the part of Jesus brought new meaning to me. What struck me most about the entire play was Jesus’ compassion. It drew me in so deeply as I saw him gaze into the sick ones’ eyes…..the care, the profound and observable look of love that He so freely gave and gives to us. I won’t forget….I see God loving us with those eyes of mercy and grace and compassion and love! Wow! The next thing that set my thoughts going was the incredible overwhelming joy that those healed felt! It was so visible..as they beamed with smiles….danced giddily…as they literally jumped with joy from the Lord’s healing touch.
I wondered….how often to we dance with that joy, those of us who are redeemed…who have freedom from hell’s touch…those who have been called by His name…how do we show our delight and joy and love for what He has done for us?
The last visual I was amazed by..was Joseph of Arimathea…..how he stepped beyond his pain and grief and his own needs…to see that Jesus’ body was taken down and readied for burial. He went to Pilate himself to ask….Are we that brave? Are we that willing? Do we go beyond our own needs and plans…to step out for Him?
If you ever get the chance to travel to Canada to see this incredible production…do not hesitate…in fact make your plans around it….For more information go to www.canadianpassionplay.com Be amazed once again at Your Savior and Lord and His Power….as the play ended..the resurrected Jesus ran up the stairs and hill to the very top…outstretched is arms…and with His white robe of purity and righteousness flowing in the breeze….declared in His voice of love and strength….I will be with you always!!! My prayer is that you take this and claim it for your life this day!
Thanks for letting me share!
I look forward to meeting up with you along the road…
Nancy
