Jesus says that he is the Good Shepherd of the sheep.  David, a shepherd himself for many years, crafted this beautiful Psalm showing us further aspects of God’s care for us.  A shepherd in David’s day would have led his sheep by his voice and his staff (crook), and not as they do today, driving the flocks before them with dogs barking at their heels and a 4WD roaring up behind. Let us look at this well loved Psalm today.

We’ve all seen someone working with an animal that we’d not choose to be close to. It may be an act at a circus with some of the “big cats”, or it may be a zookeeper working with a snake, bear or other animal. However fascinating it may be as an onlooker, there are significant dangers. What mother would allow her young child to carelessly play with a wild or aggressive animal? We would call it foolishness. Like playing with an aggressive wild animal, there are significant dangers in harboring and playing with bitterness. Join us as we discuss bitterness and forgiveness in our moderated chat.
