Interactive

TruthMedia has used the following interactive aspects since 1995.

Mentoring and prayer: When TruthMedia gives people the opportunity to submit prayer requests and life questions, those requests come from many faiths as well as unbelievers. Each email is personally matched up with a mentor who then comes alongside that person through email.

Prayer requests can be solicited by:

  • Business card that says “Need Prayer” with an email address that enables the person to submit the request directly into TruthMedia’s software system. This address could be an organization email address that forwards to TruthMedia.
  • Christians could be challenged to pass on this card to non-believers as a way to engage them in a one-to-one evangelism/follow-up relationship with a mentor
  • Billboard that says “Need Prayer? Email us at ______”
  • Newspaper ads that says “Need Prayer? Email us at_______”
  • Online forms (corporate websites could be challenged to have a button that says “need prayer – click here”)
  • Any other method that is used to obtain prayer requests.

An online small group ministry program that functions in a network of moderated chat rooms. TruthMedia could offer use of its chat room complete with training for the moderator or leader of the specific chat sessions.

E-learning and volunteer resources are available to be used as appropriate. They offer comprehensive training for mentors, chat moderators, and writers.

Content: TruthMedia has thousands of evangelistic articles that address felt needs and share the gospel and the spirit-filled life. There are also hundreds of ministry training articles. Some of this content is available in multiple languages. TruthMedia has an structured volunteer writing program that may offer possibilities for sharing resources.

Online follow-up for offline events enables those who have indicated praying to receive Christ or indicated spiritual need to immediately receive an email with resource information and a online discipleship course. A mentor is available to spiritually guide them through their next steps of faith.

Mobilize donors, other organizations and partners in active ministry. Ministry partners are able to become actively involved in sharing Christ and helping people take the next steps in their spiritual journey. Each partner can customize their involvement according to their own schedule and areas of interest. People become excited about the way God is using them that they tend to become more active in other areas of ministry. The software offers encryption and privacy, thereby protecting the mentor and mentoree.

Ability to minister to a wide variety of audiences including:

  • Radio programs: Radio listeners can email their prayer requests and spiritual questions and be matched-up with a mentor within moments. Text-message responses could be added as a communication method.
  • Websites: Partnering websites could easily connect online visitors with mentors through simple, easy to add, buttons.
  • Offline events: Follow-up that begins at various events could be deeply enriched with the incorporation of an online mentoring program. Imagine someone filling out a comment card and having an initial response waiting in their inbox when they get home that night!
  • Geographical/language matching. The Mentor Center offers geographical and language matching which can assist in the ministry of various areas of the world in reaching different people groups.
